Clay is soft sedimentary rock that is rich in an array of mineral salts. Its properties vary depending on its source and color. The white clay we use is collected in the Amazon and has an abundance of minerals. As a source of zinc and magnesium, it is perfect for dry, weakened scalps.
“A Positive Sourcing” program developed with Pur Projet for selecting more responsible supply chains.
The virtues of Amazonian white clay stem from the wealth of organic matter that was deposited over centuries along the Amazon River, from the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean. The white clay we use comes from Marajo Island in Brazil. It is collected outside forested areas to prevent tree cutting in the rainforest. White clay production provides an additional income source to the local community that helps harvest it.
