Illipe butter comes from the fruit of the shorea stenoptera tree. The fruit begins growing when the trees become “adults” – around 18 years old. Illipe butter is often compared to cocoa butter because its abundance of fatty acids gives it nourishing properties.

Our fruit is harvested in Borneo by aborigines who live in the rain forest. They only collect fruits that have already fallen to the ground to protect the resource and to promote long-term development of the local economy.
