The baobab, or “tree of life”, is an iconic tree from Africa. Baobabs are famous for their immense size and exceptional longevity: they can grow as thick as 12 meters in diameter and live as long as 3,000 years. Baobab fruits are extracted from seeds that are 12% to 35% oil, which means the tree can produce an average of 1 liter of oil per year. Baobab oil is rich in palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids, as well as vitamins A, D and E, and presents antioxidant properties.

Our baobab oil is pressed by various producers in Southern Africa, all of which comply with environmental and ethical charters. The rural inhabitants who collect the fruits receive training on sustainable harvesting techniques, sanitation and quality management to ensure an excellent quality of pulp, seed and oil production.Producing this oil creates new income streams for the local population. Furthermore, because it makes use of natural resources it helps protect the environment and local biodiversity.
